The Mountain School is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

 Grades Teacher 3rd/4th Grade 2013-14 school year:

The Mountain School is a pioneering elementary school inspired by Waldorf education currently in its sixth year of operation. We offer Preschool through 3rd grade classes currently and will expand to 4th grade in the fall of 2013. We are located in the beautiful Wood River Valley of Idaho, just 15 miles from the world class Sun Valley year round resort. The school is located on a small three acres farmettesituated along the stunning Wood River. School grounds host vegetable and flower gardens, small farm animals (miniature horses, fiber and milk goats, rabbits, chickens and honey bees), a geodesic dome greenhouse, unlimited nature trails and wilderness access and a solar heated eco-conscious school house. TMS is a cutting-edge school inspired by Waldorf philosophy with its ample concrete, hands-on, full-systems teaching opportunities. The school and preschool combined currently enroll forty-five students. We also offer after school and summer camp programs for children ages 4-12 from the local community. In the fall of 2013 , we will be adding a 4th Grade class. In the fall of 2014, we will become the first public Charter school in Idaho inspired by Waldorf philosophy. We are seeking energetic and outstanding Waldorf teachers to join us on this inspiring journey!

Requirements: Demonstrated experience as a Waldorf certified Grades teacher for 3rd/4thGrades; willingness to work within an innovative start-up school model with mixed age groups and transitioning to a charter school; the ability to articulate and mission of TMS and Waldorf education; willingness to pursue Idaho teaching certification; BA or equivalent.

Specialty Teacher 2013-14 School Year:

This position will plan, coordinate and teach handwork, gardening, farming, cooking and games (and possibly Spanish, if qualified) classes for 1st-4th grade, while working closely with the Grades Teachers to coordinate and integrate age-appropriate and block-specific language arts, math, and science into the Specialty Lessons. The Teacher will attend one faculty meeting per week in the afternoon.

The Teacher will assist the Grades Teachers with festivals, performances, open houses, parent evenings, field trips and other school events. They will supervise snack and lunch and the recess yard for before-school drop-offs, and the two later recess times each day.

Requirements: Demonstrated experience as a Waldorf certified teacher or teacher in training with applicable experience; willingness to work within an innovative start-up school model with mixed age groups and transitioning to a charter school; the ability to articulate and mission of TMS and Waldorf education; willingness to pursue Idaho teaching certification; BA or equivalent.
