The Mountain School, Bellevue, Idaho

Welcome to The Mountain School (TMS) website. TMS is located in Bellevue, Idaho and provides an environment that sets the foundation for a life-long love of learning and holistic balanced living. Our learning environment and our programs strive to awaken and encourage exploration through the head, heart, and hands (thinking, feeling and willing). Learning becomes much more than memorizing facts … learning becomes an engaging voyage to discover the world and oneself while the magic and wonder of childhood are protected and respected. We are developing members of WECAN (Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America) and are working towards our WECAN accreditation.

The Mountain School offers the following programs based upon Waldorf educational philosophy and curriculums:

a five-day per week Mixed Age Morning and Bridge Program for ages four through eight year olds from September through May.
a five-day per week After School Program for children 4-12 years old from September through May. We pick up at 2:30pm from Hailey and Woodside Elementary.
eight one-week Summer Camp sessions for children 4-12 twelve years old. The 2008 Summer Camps start June 16 and end on August 8. Sign up for morning (9-1), afternoon (1-5) or all day sessions (9-5) in late April.

Our Waldorf curriculum consists of two major components - nurturing child development through practical and expressive arts and through exposure to permaculture (sustainable farm living). Parents and community members are invited and encouraged to become involved in association activities and assisting with school festivals and events.The collective effort of teachers, parents and school board members creates a richer educational experience.
